Melania Trump does not want to hold President Donald Trump's hand. At least, she didn't when she landed at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, Israel, on the third day of the president's first foreign trip, HuffPost reports.
POTUS and FLOTUS were walking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara.
Behold — Melania's subtle rebuke.
It appears First Lady Melania Trump slaps away Pres. Trump's hand as he reaches to hold it while on tarmac in Israel pic.twitter.com/rWsYlrEJeS— Niraj Warikoo (@nwarikoo) May 22, 2017
Twitter seems divided on the matter. Some agreed she seems to be pushing his hand away in the now viral clip.
@nwarikoo Yep. Noticed that earlier this morning. She did it.— Ann Early (@Ann_Early) May 22, 2017
@nwarikoo Never thought I could relate to Melania Trump but girl SAME— Lanessa Cherie Long (@lanessalong) May 22, 2017
@nwarikoo Not a happy camper. Not a smile in sight these past few days!!— Octopus Hands (@wundervoice) May 22, 2017
@nwarikoo This is how we all feel.— terrikrauss (@terrikrauss) May 22, 2017
Others appeared to interpret the move a little differently.
@nwarikoo That's the slap? His reach is a gesture to catch up. She taps him to show proximity. WTF.— RealBudFox (@RealBudFox) May 22, 2017
@nwarikoo looks more like they touched hands.— Todd Vance (@tdvance) May 22, 2017
@nwarikoo He is POTUS, going one way to deliver a speech, she was headed to a seat. Making something out of nothing.— Paul Bumgarner (@taxfiled) May 22, 2017
We may never know for sure what Melania intended by the motion, but let's step into her shoes for a second: Would you want to hold President Trump's hand?
Yeah, didn't think so.
