A group of men have returned from a bachelor party — with some very adorable company in tow.
Mitchel Craddock of Vicksburg, Michigan, took his family and friends to the woods in Tennessee to celebrate the last few days of bachelorhood. However, on the first morning, they saw an uninvited but welcome party crasher — a dog sitting morosely outside their cabin’s door.
“We were cooking bacon with the door open. The next thing you know, there’s this dog sitting right at the front door. She wouldn’t come inside, but she sat right there,” Craddock said.
The eight men quickly became friends with the furry creature, whom they named Annie, and soon realized she was hungry and dehydrated. Craddock also realized she had recently had puppies.
"After we gave her a bunch of food and water, she started producing milk again," Craddock said. "So we figured if she's making milk, her pups can't be that old."
The group set out in search of Annie’s puppies and found a hole in the ground with a litter of seven puppies. The men took them in and washed them to rid them of fleas and dirt. They even named the puppies Knox, Bear, Daisy, Gunner, Brimmy, Finn and Rose and took them to a vet where they were deemed generally healthy.
The men ended up adopting the little critters, including Annie. Craddock said his now wife Kristen was excited about the prospect of adopting another dog (the couple have a chocolate Labrador).
“Once we got the puppies out of the hole, we knew we couldn't just leave them, so we started figuring out where they would go,” Craddock quipped. “Thanks for coming to my bachelor party. Here's a puppy.”
