Roger Federer Has A Back Up Career And It’s Pretty Amazing

Roger Federer just proved he is full of personality and can win his fans even when he isn’t playing.

Meet Roger Federer – the amazing viral bongo performer.

In a video, that has gone viral since Federer tweeted it out himself, the tennis legend can be seen throwing a hilarious air bongo performance as his fans played along.

“At least I have a backup career as a bongo player,” read the caption to his tweet.

The 17-times grand-slam-champion returned to tennis recently at the Hopman cup tournament in Perth, Australia, after suffering from a knee injury. As he watched his Swiss teammate Belinda Bencic play in the international team event, the camera suddenly brought him in the limelight during the break.

The standard fan cam focused on Federer with a pair of bongos and the athlete didn’t let go of the opportunity to become a show stopper, making his bongo performing debut to Gloria Estefan's "Conga."

However, he wasn’t the only one performing – he had competition.

The camera then turned to German player Alexander Zverev, to whom Federer lost a game earlier in the day. It’s safe to say the bongo battle was a delight for all the viewers.

Conversely, Federer’s father wasn’t very happy with the show stopping act. In fact, he even emailed his son, about his performance.

“My Dad wrote me an email and said ‘can you please stop that right now,’” Federer laughed. “And I was like are you serious? And he was like this is serious."

But his fans naturally think otherwise, as they are falling in love with the superstar all over.

Later, teammate Bencic defeated German Andrea Petkovic and joined the bongo fever.

"I mean, it's easy to do the bongo like that when Belinda played as well as she did in the singles, so I'm happy I didn't throw her off and she was still able to win," remarked Federer.
