During the first presidential debate on Monday night Trump took a verbal shot at one of his arch enemies, Rosie O’Donnell, after Hillary Clinton brought up the many disturbing remarks he has made about women.
“Hillary is hitting me with tremendous commercials,” Trump said during the televised debate.
“Some of it said in entertainment, some of it said by somebody who’s been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell,” he added. “I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her.”
O’Donnell responded to an unwarranted attack by a Trump fan who applauded his comments with a tweet that read, “HE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT.”

Shortly after, she posted another tweet of a clip from "The View," when her feud with Trump first began. She included a caption that referred to the Republican presidential candidate as an “orange anus.”
Her tweets almost instantly went from just social media posts to national headlines.
Even pop icon Madonna, who is a friend of O’Donnell’s, chimed in to express support for her, noting that “cruelty never made anyone a winner,” in regards to Trump’s crass statements.
Aside from sounding like a flat-out jerk, Trump ruffled feathers for bringing O’Donnell’s name into the fray at all. Several people — fellow celebrities included — criticized him for using a political stage to “settle scores” with a celebrity rival.
He is two months from the presidency on the biggest stage still settling scores with Rosie O'Donnell. That is a toxic, unreliable mind.— pourmecoffee (@pourmecoffee) September 27, 2016
???? We can't elect a man who is obsessed with hate for Rosie O'Donnell. You never hear Putin bring up Yakov Smirnoff in a political debate.— Arsenio Hall (@ArsenioHall) September 27, 2016
A man who would have less than 9 minutes to decide to use a nuclear weapon in an emergency made fun of Rosie O’Donnell in a debate.— Damien Fahey (@DamienFahey) September 27, 2016
Perhaps Trump would feel justified, despite the backlash, since he obviously believes that O’Donnell is the only woman he’s offended and he has no remorse.
Nevertheless, O’Donnell certainly takes the cake for the best “clap back” with her salacious, yet accurate new nickname for Trump.
The fact that throughout this entire campaign O’Donnell has remained mostly silent and refrained from badmouthing Trump indicates that she really couldn’t care less about dragging on this feud; it’s Trump who can’t seem to let it go.
She was right, however, not to let him get away with the insulting comments he made during the debate.
