Exhaust-ing ordeal: Woman gets head stuck in tailpipe. pic.twitter.com/3DBlaRHxVU— Circa (@Circa) June 13, 2018
Kaitlin Strom, 19, was casually walking around the Winstock Music Festival about an hour’s drive outside of the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. That’s when she saw an oversized tailpipe on a vehicle and decided to try something that, in retrospect, was not a smart idea.
She stuck her head in it.
“We were just all having fun, and I saw this big exhaust pipe, and I was like, ‘Hey, my head could probably fit in that,’ so I tried it,” Strom said in trying to explain her actions.
Unfortunately for her, getting her head in was the easy part.
“It did fit, but it didn’t want to come back out,” Strom said.
Someone took a video of Strom stuck in the tailpipe and uploaded it on Facebook. It didn’t take long for the footage to go viral.
Strom was stuck like that for 45 minutes until the fire department could come and remove her head from the pipe. It appears that, as embarrassing as this endeavor likely was, Strom is taking it all well — even posting a picture of herself holding the tailpipe after she was freed from it.
Fortunately for her, the owner of the truck looked upon her actions with empathy — he didn’t even try to charge her for a replacement tailpipe.
The local police department, on the other hand, wasn’t too happy with her. They ended up writing Strom a ticket for under-age drinking.
All things considered, that's probably one of the better outcomes anyone who was stuck head-first in a tailpipe could hope for.
