Wendy Williams Fainted Live On TV Because Of Her Own Halloween Costume

Wendy Williams looked radiant in a shimmery green Statue of Liberty costume but it soon became clear that everything was not all right with her.

A talk show host fainted on live TV because of a Halloween costume — her very own.

Wendy Williams was in the middle of her show’s annual “How You Doin’ Halloween Costume Contest” when the incident happened.

The 53-year-old TV personality looked radiant in a shimmery green Statue of Liberty Costume but it soon became clear that everything was not OK with her. Williams started stammering her words and taking deep breaths between sentences, then she went eerily quiet. As viewers cottoned on the fact that something was amiss, Williams started stumbling and then quite abruptly, fell to the ground in a dead faint.

As her guests cried out in horror, stage hands quickly ran to the stage to assist the woman. To add more horror to the situation, the screen went black.

Fortunately, Williams soon came back on air and addressed the scary incident.

“That was not a stunt. I am overheated in my costume. I did pass out. But you know what? I’m a champ and I’m back,” she said to loud applause.

A few minutes after the incident, Williams seems totally recovered from her episode as she danced around with guests dressed in Halloween costumes.

After the show, Williams said she was going home. She later tweeted she was “doing fine.”

Williams’ spokesman Ronn Torossian confirmed to The News that the TV show host fainted from dehydration.

“(She is) on her way home for a good day and night of sleep. She has been examined by medical professionals and is well. She is OK and will continue as shows as planned. She will address this on-air tomorrow,” Torossian said. “She has never missed a day of work and is looking forward on November 13th to her 1500th show.”

Williams' faint brought out the medical "experts" on Twitter.
